Sit back and relax!

You know that feeling you get when you have this heavy feeling on your chest when you wake up? No? Well, it was because something was actually sitting on my chest!
I swore as I shot up, almost bumping my head on the wall behind me, my monster was sitting on my chest and gave me a cheeky wave.
“Hi, there” It said.
“I thought you’d left, what are you doing here! It’s-it’s-” I checked my phone on the small bedtime table “-It’s six thirty!”
“You’re the one who set your alarm that early”
“I did… Do that, but that’s not an invitation for you to show up!” I retorted.
“It’s not like I need your invitation” The monster hummed.
“So it means nothing to you that it’s six thirty in-the-morning?!”
“Nada”
“You’re not using Spanish with me right now!”
“Well-”
“Don’t reply to me, I’m just going to ignore you” I growled, getting out of bed, also grabbing my pyjama trousers, to stop them falling down as I did so, the elastic had clearly gone in them.
Another note to my list, buy some new pyjamas, I thought to myself.
The monster just smiled and didn’t say anything else until I was sitting down, eating a cereal bar for breakfast.
“So” It asked, “How do you think these first couple of lessons will go?”
I wanted to tell it to shut up, but nothing seemed to work as it spoke again.
“I’ll be there” It said, and that, unfortunately, was true because when I was ready to go to my first lesson, it was also ready, and I would soon learn I had a right to be worried.
