Sit back and relax!

I walked down the stairs with my monster trailing behind me, very glad I no longer had a suitcase to pull around with me. It was very cool that my accommodation was inside the school, so all I had to do was walk down the stairs, and then I was at the meeting point.
There was a small courtyard that lead to different rooms in the building, so I stood there, waiting for anyone else to come along and tell me what I was doing. Thankfully, a woman who looked to be in her forties spotted me and after a failed attempt to ask me my name in Spanish, that I somehow didn’t understand until she repeated it in English, and then she pointed to me, the room I was meant to be in.
With that embarrassing encounter over with, the monster started chuckling, how could I not understand the basic phase, what is your name/Cuál es tu nombre? My excuse being I wasn’t used to the speed of the language yet, and I was also so used to Cóme te llamas, which also means what’s your name, I had been caught of guard by the other similar sentence.
I sat down in the empty room I’d been told to go in, with my heart beating hard, feeling quite humiliated at not recognising such a simple sentence in a Spanish school and hoping that I’d get along with my tutor. The only individual tutor I’d had before had been my driving instructor, and he’d essentially made sure I quit by making me more and more anxious each lesson, until I decided that I’d had enough.
“They’ll probably realise that you’ll never be able to learn Spanish and send you back home” My monster chuckled and then yelped as I grabbed it and shoved it underneath the table as my tutor walked into the room.
“Hola” I said, smiling, trying not to show how nervous I was.
Here we go.
