Sit back and relax!

Not my images.
No, no, no! How could this be happening? Was I using the wrong key? My first day and I couldn’t even get into my room? This could not be happening!
“Looks like you’ll be stuck out here forever” My monster hummed, cheerily as it peaked out of my bag to have a look at my dilemma.
I ignored it and tried the key again, still nothing, maybe I had the wrong key? It definitely wasn’t the long gothic key which was for the door to the school entrance. I swear this other key was for my bedroom, so it had to this key I had in my hand.
I tried it a couple more times, still nothing, what the?!
Was I going to have to go downstairs and get help? But I already had been locked out when I arrived? At least that hadn’t been my fault, but this probably was! I was probably doing it wrong somehow!
I told myself that I would not embarrass myself today and resolved myself to stand here for a while to figure it out.
Maybe I was twisting the key the wrong way?
Maybe I needed to twist the door handle at the same time, or before, or after?
Was I twisting the door handle the wrong way?
Maybe I wasn’t putting enough force into it?
“Hey! Do you need help?”
While slightly embarrassed, I breathed out a sigh of relief as I saw Sarah walking up the stairs, at least I hadn’t needed to go to any of the Spanish teachers for help.
“Yeah, my key’s not working, I might need to get a new one, or I could be an idiot”
“Can I?” She asked and I gave her my keys.
Click!
She pushed, and the door swung open, happily, like I hadn’t been trying to wrestle with it for the last hour!
Well, it hadn’t been an hour, but it felt like it!
My conclusion?
“Yep, I’m an idiot!”
However my step inside my new lodging for the next two weeks, suddenly felt daunting instead of relieved or excited.
So…what next?
Now that was the real question.
