New Zealand, Day Three

Hello, welcome to my Travel Blog.

Live experience begins:

The time and date is wrong because my phone had not synced up with New Zealand yet.

12:56 Just waiting for my first activity to begin, whale and dolphin watching in Auckland! I’m quite hungry so I am hoping that they said they would provide snacks and hot food on the cruise is true! I’m excited!

16:26 We found dolfins! About half an hour ago, it was amazing! They got so close to the boat! I was surprised! I teared up a little at the site, I always wanted to see dolfins out in the wild! They seemed to be playing a game with the fins of our boat and racing ahead, but by a inch. Like they found the idea of being run over by a boat funny, it felt like a magical experience!

It was so beautiful ❤

Not sure why I say yesterday here, since this is on the same day and has the correct date

20:15 Just eaten at ——Vietnamese place, very delicious!  I thought this cost a lot! Then I remembered New Zealand dollars are like half the price in pounds so this is 9 pounds.

Afterthoughts:

I had a absolutely fantastic day, I honestly was nervous that I would be too tired to enjoy the experience but I felt surprisingly awake, maybe it was because I was in a completely different environment? However what I will say is once I got off the plane, I did get quite nervous about getting to my hotel. I had booked a taxi from Get Your Guide to take me from the airport to my hotel and it took for ages to show up. I had no idea who I was looking for so I wondered up to someone who looked like he was some kind of taxi service and asked him, he wasn’t the guy but he did help me to get in contact with my driver. He wasn’t even part of that company so he was very helpful.

My driver thankfully showed up and turns out I wasn’t the only person he was picking up and instead of a normal looking taxi it was this lovely looking giant car, almost like a mini coach which looked fairly fancy and the driver gave me and the other passenger a free bottle of water while he apologised, even though he was very late, I was impressed by his behaviour and the car.

The passenger seemed to be this dutch lady who was here on a work meeting if I remember correctly and we talked a bit on the ride there. He stopped at my hotel, even though I couldn’t see my hotel but I could see that he’d stopped at the right place on my maps so I just accepted I was at the right place, after wondering up and down the street, feeling really nervous I finally found it, it blended in with the other buildings around it ha!

After making myself at home for the next two days, I set out to on my cruise. I arrived there way too early because I wanted to try and find somewhere to eat, in the end I couldn’t decide and instead decided to get something on the cruise, thankfully they served hot soup which was quite nice.

Honestly the dolphin experience was just amazing, I would definitely recommend them, they were called the Auckland Whale and Dolphin Safari. We didn’t see any whales unfortunately but we saw so many dolphins! They were beautiful. I seriously and honestly, no lie, had tears in my eyes watching them, since I had only ever seen them in aquariums, to see them wild, free and happy, clearly playing with us, was wonderful, beautiful experience.

After that and also after almost losing my hat in the wind, I swam back to the- okay just kidding, we got back to the shore and I felt too nervous to go to a place to eat so I went back to the hotel, then decided to get the courage to go to a restaurant/cafe place next door, this lovely Vietnamese place. My food was delicious, as you can see from up above! It defiantly was rememberable! I did think that my food was eighteen pounds something at first but I soon realised that it was New Zealand dollars, so in pound sterling that would be nine pounds, not 18, defiantly not as bad as I thought ha.

I fell asleep, excited and happy with my first day in New Zealand, I couldn’t believe I was here, on the other side of the world! I would not change a single thing about my first day in New Zealand! Now on to the next day, shall we?
