My most recent travel story, sit back and relax. 



Let's set the scene, a busy thriving market, one step away from my door. A beautiful clear sapphire sky. A bubble of unfamiliar language surrounds the noise of my footsteps. A small winding pathway leading downwards, a rainbow of colours, flashing and swirling in my vision as the locals, other tourists and eager shop owners begin their day. 

The sound of a language that just seems to rhyme and sound so fluid compared to my own, that makes me wonder if I'll ever be able to learn enough to know its depth. 

The warmth of the sun helps the smile to spread naturally across my face and my eyes to light up in delight. It's just right, not enough to feel like I've turned into a melting ice cube and not too little to feel like I'd become an ice cube. 

As the pathway opens up, and I walk further into the centre and down the main streets, mountains casually sat in the land scape, minding their own business, as if it was completely naturally to see them surrounding the city but then again, in this country and area, I suppose it is natural after all. 

A fast spoken but poetic language, the mountainous scenery and the heat of the sun in April, all remind me that I really am in a completely different country, so different from dreary flat England. 

England can still amaze me too sometimes, but right now, standing in Granada, Spain, England feels dull and void of colours.
