Sunset Walking Tour in Albaicín & Sacromonte
Welcome to my in-depth tour review!

Cost:
I’ll talk about the cost first, this was the cheapest tour I did in Granada, costing only 15 euros. It was well worth the money! I gave my tour guide an extra ten euros at the end, but there was no pressure for you to do that.
The Tour:
I really enjoyed this tour! Not my favourite tour, but still, the views were fantastic and the information the tour guide gave was great and very interesting! We really did go to areas that gave us wonderful views of Granada and especially the Alhambra.
I was often at the front listening to the tour guide and I also met a lovely older Irish lady who was always wandering off to take more pictures and my tour guide was often stopping to make sure she was still with us and hadn’t been left behind, sometimes she was a bit too eager and had walked on ahead! We were all wondering where she had gone, then someone else from our tour would have eagle eyes and say, “She’s over there!” Then it would become a game of spot the older Irish lady.
There were a lot more stairs that what I was led to believe, but that’s to be expected to get such great views! All these photos on this post are from the sun set tour!

Where I Found The Tour:
I found this tour on an app I definitely recommend, Get Your Guide! The tours are so easy to book, just type in your destination in search and find out what tours are available in your area! Get Your Guide also will get in contact with you by WhatsApp, where they can make you aware of extra information or let you know if you need to move your tour to a different date and as long as they know what other date you can do, they’ll do it for you without you needing to do anything! ❤
I did have to choose another date for this tour. I had to do it for two other tours as well, simply because there were not enough people on the dates I had chosen, thankfully since I was in Granada for two weeks, I had a lot of dates to choose from. So I would be aware of this and possibly of needing to move dates, perhaps make sure you have a plan B. You can also get in contact with the tour providers as well and likely be able to ask for assurance that they’ll be enough people on your tour and find out if you need a plan B!
Be aware that you’ll also need to cancel before a certain time, or you won’t be refunded. They’ll have that information available to you, though. I unfortunately realised too late that I could not do this tour on the date I thought and had to book another tour, because I realised this in the evening, and the tour was the next day. I did not get a refund, but I don’t mind that, as it was my own fault anyway.

The Tour Guide:
Our tour guide was pretty amazing, she was incredibly knowledgable and had this fiery passionate personality that made it fascinating to listen to her, and you could see so clearly that she loved her job! I unfortunately don’t remember her name, I even asked her at the end of the tour, she told me again, and I still didn’t remember! I’m sorry to her that I’m so bad at remembering names!
She always made sure we were all with her and recommended a couple of popular poems and books, and definitely made me want to research certain Spanish historic characters more. She just had this sharp and passionate feeling that made this tour even more enjoyable! The way she talked about the history of the places we stopped at, made it sound like a story that you’d just love to sit down, have a drink and just listen to her talk. If I had to nitpick, I would have liked more time in certain areas, and she did walk quite fast sometimes! But I still got plenty of amazing photographs, as you can see! Out of the tour guides I had over the two weeks, I will definitely remember her! I And who knows? I hope to go back to Granada at some point, maybe I’ll go on the same tour and see her again!
If I could remember her name, I’d definitely recommend her!
Location:
We all met in a plaza called Plaza Nueva, 18010. For me, it was only a couple of minutes from the Spanish School I was staying at. We also finished at the same meeting point, so if you stay near this plaza, you should definitely consider this tour! In Get Your Guide, it will also show up on your maps. So yes, it was very easy to find! As per the tour says, you’ll visit the Sacromonte Quarter and the Albaicin, a world heritage site. As per the summary of the tour says you’ll get the best pictures in the Sacromonte area, and they were correct!
What To Bring:
A water bottle, a hat to keep the sun off you, and comfortable shoes! There also will be a place to refill your water bottle at the San Nicolas view point, and if you ask, I’m sure the tour guide will point you in the right direction. The walk is not that demanding, though.

My Final Thoughts:
If you enjoy getting the good photographic shots and learning about Granada’s history, do not miss out on this tour! The famous San Nicolas view point is fairly easy to get to with a lot of walking, so if you’re only interested in that and not interested in extra information about the areas of Granada, then I suppose you can just do that without the tour. I would also say you could do the tour then after the tour, you can come back to the areas later on and spend more time in the photographic points that you are shown because yes the tour was a little too fast-paced in my opinion, but the photographic advantages points we were shown were still amazing and her knowledge of these areas also was fascinating to listen too, so all in all this was a fantastic experience!
Recommend
Yes! I definitely recommend this tour!
