Sit back and relax!

I decided not to go out and spend the evening unpacking and making sure I was ready for my first individual Spanish class tomorrow, that would start around 9am. I also spent a lot of my time trying to get to know Sarah, she ran her own business, which I always loved the idea of doing, but I couldn’t think of a business idea to get anything going.
I was a little jealous, I have to say, especially since her business is online, I just imagined myself actually being able to bring my work with me on holiday, and then I could stay even longer here, unfortunately that was not the case and my in-store retail job was calling and laughing at my dreams.
We then for a while tried to master the art of taking a sunflower seed out of its casing to eat, with only our tongues, as Sarah had seen someone do it earlier. I am ashamed to say I will never master this skill, and to be honest, I didn’t even realise you could eat sunflower seeds, but they seem popular in Spain or at least in Granada, since they had a whole area dedicated to this in a small shop I visited later on.
Despite spending time with Sarah, I did feel like there was this distance between us that I didn’t know how to fix, like a bridge I was unsure how to assemble to form a connection.
So I offered for us to go out and have tapas together at some point, hoping to fix that strange, unknown gap. It’s completely understandable if we didn’t click, but I just felt like I should try and fix the bridge since we’d be living together for two weeks.
Note to myself, I thought as I got ready for bed in this unfamiliar environment but somehow comforting at the same time.
Set your alarm early.
Explore Granada as much as possible.
Find out about your schedule.
Eat some churros at some point.
Form a connection with Sarah.
Oh yeah, and don’t mess up or embarrass yourself on your first day in Spanish Class!
Easy to do, right? I would find a lot more things would be added to my list as time went on.
