Daily writing prompt
How do you know when it’s time to unplug? What do you do to make it happen?

I have certain moments when I unplug, usually when it just makes sense too, when I am talking to my friends, face to face, because you can’t really have a conversation over your phones can you? When I have a conversation with anyone really unless its a super short conversation, I’ll make sure to unplug.

When I am work and working for a supervisor I like, I will make sure not to check my phone constantly.

When I am out walking my dog I will unplug because I need to make sure his not up to mischief, last time I checked my phone on a walk, he tried to be sneaky and grab a little food someone had dropped on the ground and I only just managed to pull him back, not on my watch mister!

Also of course, when I am traveling I only usually use my phone to find locations and take photos, my last holiday in Granada I also used my phone to book up tours, so apart from those, I was pretty much unplugged.

I also have Spanish classes where I am unplugged too πŸ™‚

Occasionally I will also unplug and read one of my books for half an hour as well, but I don’t have a specific reason as to why and when, it’ll just be this feeling that I’ll listen too.

I have to say though I am often plugged up to my laptop, since the majority of things I enjoy is on here and even need for studying and as well as looking for jobs.

I am online a lot though, simply because finding jobs I want, looking at education opportunities and my hobby of writing this blog, writing stories in a different system, and I’ve also been incredibly active on one of my social media accounts, my instagram, are all online and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that, as long as I have reasons and hopefully my job and educational searching will eventually be fruitful so I will have more time unplugged and even more time traveling ❀

I don’t know why but I decided this was a good idea to write this at 7:20 am, on a day off, so after I publish this, I’m going back to sleep!

  1. You talked about your dog and that made me smile. You have no idea how desperately I needed that right now. Now everytime I get overwhelmed I’m going to think about your dog grabbing a snack off the ground and lighten up.

    1. I’m glad to hear that 😊 He is very cheeky and silly sometimes. He had a silly moment recently where he jumped into a lake after some ducks and didn’t seem to realise it was water and he panicked as soon as he jumped in and couldn’t get out so and I had to drag him out again, like what are you doing? You don’t even like water! πŸ™ˆ

      1. Aw, what kind of dog? A visual would be cozy cause I love dogs but I’m mostly wondering how big a dog you had to rescue.

      2. Haha, don’t worry about that, he is fairly small. He is a cavalier King Charles spaniel, he is 2 years old. We got him after our last dog, the same kind of dog, his name was Albee, passed away. The house felt to quiet without him so we got another dog. It was quite strange since we were used to an old deaf dog not an excited puppy who could hear us XD But Merlin helped us grief our last dog and we liked to tell him even though non of us our religious, even though they’re not related and he can’t understand us that his big brother is in the sky watching him, it just feels comforting. We like to say things like what would Albee think of your behaviour Merlin XD

      5. He came with the name. You know how much they cost. I got him for free. He was 8 months and my beauticians daughter couldn’t keep him so she gave him to me.

      8. I agree with this! Merlin understands me when I say come here or don’t touch that! Then like a child he looks at me and is like na, I’m not going to listen to you! πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚

      9. Cody even understood let’s go over here for a second. I took hin for a walk once and forgot I was communicating with a dog, but he looked back to see where I was going and followed me to the sidewalk. Then I told him let’s go back out to the street and he got it.

      10. His so clever and understanding! 😊 That reminds me of a moment I had with Albee where it started to rain badly and I stopped walking, trying to decide whether to carry on or go back he looked at me then was he was like welp I’m making the choice for you and with no prompting from me, he turned back around and started to pull me in the direction of our house and I was like I guess I am going back home then πŸ˜‚
