Short Poem: The Brakes

Fields upon fiends is all I see.
Waiting for something to change .
Grass upon grass won’t leave my sight.
Until I press the brakes.

It’s time to take to the sky.
And leave behind behind the fields.
To a concrete jungle, an endless ocean or mountains that reach the clouds.

Buildings upon buildings.
Mountains upon mountains.
Sea upon sea won’t leave my sight.
Until I’m not waiting any longer.
And I don’t press the brakes.

My money and my work reaches out to press the brakes for me.
I can’t stop them.
Fields upon fields is all I see.
I’m waiting again.
For something to change.



Just like I started my short stories, I always wanted to start writing poems online. Originally I was thinking of creating another WordPress website for them but eventually I decided to add them on to this website, hope you enjoy!

      Thank you ♥️ the picture is from the Canary Islands. In my poem the fields upon fields comment is about England. I live in England, in a small town, my area is very flat and fields surround us, while it’s pretty but if that’s all you see, it can get very boring and makes me want to explore other places more! 😊
