Suffolk Holiday 2023: Day Eight, Final Day

8:05 My last day today unfortunately! We are packing and leaving this lovely cottage. We will go to a seaside town nearby, though, so it’s not just going to be in a car! I will say my charger for my phone did not charge up properly, so I am going to have to use my phone less and take less photos, I am afraid!

9:43 We are on our way to the seaside town! All packed and ready to go! Unfortunately, it seems like it’s going to be a bit miserable and rainy today!

10:27 Just arrived! The pier looks pretty! Now we just got to find some breakfast!

When we first got to Southwold, it was quite a miserable day!
Looks like a storm is coming! The light on the water is also very pretty! Looks mystical!

10:47 We have found a café called Bread and Butter, it has lots of gluten-free options!

This is where we went to have breakfast, and sorry about my finger in the picture!

Bread and Butter café menu! GF means gluten-free, so they had lots of options ❤️🤤

These pictures were right next to us and I thought they were cute!

11:07 Just got my gluten-free pancake with bacon! Looks delicious!

This was delicious! I ate it all, definitely recommend it!

11:26 Just been told by mum that there’s a popular bakery that does lots of gluten-free options, called Magpie Bakery! Definitely going to check that out!

They also had lots of gluten-free options! I got an almond biscuit from here, it was soft in the middle and crunchy on the outside! Yum!
Southwold is popular for its seaside huts! But they are super expensive!

A pretty view from the pier!
A small but busy pier we walked on!

It is interesting! One side of the pier it was super busy, while this side, it looks super empty!

There were some fishermen at the end of the pier! We watched them a bit to see if they caught anything, they unfortunately didn’t!

Now this was an interesting experience! They had strange homemade arcade games, it was very odd but fun!

Very odd!
I am pretty sure I have seen this arcade game before!

Now, this arcade game was just creepy!

Cool painting!

I had some ice cream before I left! I had a mint magnum! 😋

Time to leave! Goodbye Southwold and goodbye Suffolk

12:45 We’ve had a lovely time in Southwold! Now we are on the road again, back home!

15:48 We are finally home! Didn’t take as long as I thought, now for the long and tedious task of unpacking!

Merlin was so happy to be home, he didn’t want to go on a walk!

17:30 It took so long to unpack! But now I can relax a bit, then I’ll do some social media stuff and go over the comments and grammar on my last blog post later on.

18:14 Just going to have a lot of snacks for dinner, including these gluten-free jam tarts! Used to have so many of these when I was a child! Haven’t had them in years! Hope they still taste nice!

Home sweet home! These jam tarts were as delicious as I remembered 😋

21:55 I have added the photographs, now I just need to add the comments underneath the photos!

22:45 Grammar check! Here we go! Hopefully I’ll be able to finish it this time!

23:02 Hello! So I thought I could complete the grammar check today, but my eyes are playing up, I sometimes have allergies that play up and make my eyes sting and end up wet, it’s taken me a while to write this comment because of it. So I will grammar check it tomorrow instead. Anyway, this is the end to my holiday, hope you enjoyed!

30th/14:07 Grammar check is completed!

My next travel post will either be an in-depth review of my cruise holiday that I went on a couple of years ago, or my afterthoughts of this holiday, what I enjoyed, what I didn’t, what I would recommend, my favourite moments and all that! Looking forward too it and I hope you are too!

  1. Ok, your blog gives me first hand information about place, food menu, structural type of construction, & I think this place was close to sea.
