Daily Prompt, Everyone Should Know

“What do you think everyone should know”

I left this too late and I’m tired so this will be pretty short.

I’m not sure to be honest, if you don’t know something then theres nothing wrong with that, you can learn.

I suppose, if I look at this in a different way, I think it’s important to know how to see something from someone else’s perspective or at least accept their perspective even if you don’t understand it.

(Unless it’s a horrible opinion, like being hateful towards someone for their race, sex, sexuality, religion and so on)

Then you know, people shouldn’t accept that behaviour and I hope people should know that behaviour is wrong, you know?

That’s to many, “you knows” I’m sorry XD

    This is an unpopular opinion but if someone is racist or whatever, I still want to understand why they are that way. No one is born racist, there’s usually a reason. And sometimes, they can be reasoned out of it. To write someone off because of certain viewpoints is, in my opinion, just as intolerant as being, well, racist. But that’s just me.

      I can understand this view point and trying to understand why someone is the way they are but I do think if someone has a view like that then its fine to not try and understand that view or accept it, unlike if its just an ordinary disagreement.
      I’d like to say I’d try and understand why they think that way but I think if someone was being incredibly sexist to me or incredibly nasty about my sexuality or my friend, I wouldn’t try and understand them and I’d shut them out.
      It’s tough to be understanding and I do think it’s acceptable to not listen to someone who uses hateful speech. There is usually a reason I know but I think personally in that situation, if someone I care about or myself had someone being purposely hateful towards us, I don’t think I’d be understanding at all and i think thats okay but thats just my opinion on how I think I’d react, thankfully I have not been in a situation like that yet.

        No, I get that. No one has to put up with being bullied or harassed. I’m not saying we need to be tolerant of everyone all of the time. That’s just silly.

        Ah that was what I was thinking about when I said it’s okay not to listen to someone who has a hateful opinion, sorry I tend to not be very good at explaining myself 😅
