Chapter Twenty One, Granada 2023

Sit back and relax!

Not my photograph, from pixel free photos.

I pulled myself together and decided to actually do what I wanted to do since I’d come back to my room.
Study Spanish. I pulled out the pieces of paper that I’d been given and gave myself the challenge of translating all the questions and any paragraph on the Spanish papers.

I used my phone when there were sentences I didn’t understand.

At least, I thought to myself, I’d understand what we were doing in my next Spanish lesson because I’d already translated the questions!

I then went over what I’d gone over with my one on – one tutor, looking at my own notes and doing a game with myself to try and remember the Spanish words and their meanings.

I went over two lessons on a Spanish app I had, it’s a fantastic app called Busuu!  Originally had Duolingo, but I was informed by my Spanish teacher back in the UK, that it was mainly Latin American Spanish and if I wanted to learn the language mainly from Spain that the majority speak, Castilian Spanish, then Duolingo might confuse me, so I decided to quit Duolingo and focus on Busuu instead. Which actually told you when it was teaching you Latin American Spanish and when it wasn’t.

It was a little expensive but worth it!

After I’d finished the lessons as well as going over the words I needed to understand more, I could no longer ignore the clawing doubt at the back of my skull.

I was originally only going to do what, twenty minutes, half an hour of study, but it had been an hour.

I was starting to get hungry, I needed to have lunch soon. I had no food in the fridge, so getting lunch meant…

Don’t think about it!

I stared at a Spanish word in my notes.

Amor was love, wasn’t it?

But wasn’t encanta love as well?

Or did they mean slightly different things?

“Are you putting something off?” A smug voice hummed in my ear…
